Cookie dough ice cream is a perennial favorite, but many versions are just average.
To create something unique while preserving traditional elements, I developed Oat Chip Dough. By using oat flour instead of all-purpose flour, I achieved a pleasantly different texture.
Traditional cookie dough ice cream can be overly sweet and somewhat bland, so I enhanced the flavor by adding salt and fudge sauce. This combination gives the ice cream a delightful balance of salty and sweet, offering a complex flavor that complements the classic taste.
Oat Chip Dough brings a fresh twist to a beloved treat, making it a standout in the world of cookie dough ice creams.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and level cookie dough as evenly as possible. Place in the freezer. Once firm, cut the dough into cubes and store in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to use. The dough will be firm but soft. It should not be completely frozen.
