Butter Pecan

Main Ingredients: 

  1. 3 ½ cups brown sugar  base
  2. 1 stick melted butter 
  3. 1 cup chopped pecans
  4. 1 Tbsp melted butter
  5. Pinch salt (optional)
  6. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  7. Caramel (optional)

Directions:

Toasted Pecans

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 1 Tbsp of butter and toss with 1 cup chopped pecans; add a pinch of salt if desired.
  3. Lay buttered pecans in a single layer on the baking sheet and toast for 5 minutes.
  4. Cool to room temperature. 

Ice Cream 

  1. Melt 1 stick of butter in the microwave and cool to room temperature.
  2. In a bowl mix the brown sugar cream base, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour into the ice cream maker and churn. Churn until the mix starts to look solid and firm. It’s ready when a spoon is pressed across the top and it should leave an impression without collapsing for just a second. 
  4. In the last 30 seconds of churning add the toasted pecans.
  5. Turn off the machine and remove the dasher and fill the container.
  6. If adding caramel begin to layer the container with caramel then ice cream till the container is full. 
  7. Cover and freeze for 8 hours or overnight.
