As a fan of Tillamook’s ice cream, I was excited to try their frozen custard and see how it stacked up. Frozen custard is known for being richer and creamier than traditional ice cream due to its higher egg content, so I had high expectations. Would it be noticeably different from their classic ice cream? Would it be worth the switch? Here’s my full experience.
Tillamook’s branding is always clean and inviting, and their frozen custard packaging was no exception. The design had a premium feel, with clear flavor labeling and a bold yet simple aesthetic. The custard itself looked smooth and dense, hinting at the richness I was hoping for.
To get a well-rounded idea, I sampled multiple flavors. Here’s how they measured up:
This was the first flavor I tried, and it set a high bar. The chocolate flavor was deep and intense, richer than their regular chocolate ice cream. The custard texture made it extra indulgent, almost like a frozen chocolate mousse.
This flavor was incredibly fresh and natural, with a strong strawberry presence that tasted like real fruit rather than artificial syrup. The custard base enhanced the richness, making it feel like a more luxurious version of a classic strawberry ice cream.
This one was the most unique. The combination of salty and sweet worked beautifully, with crunchy honeycomb pieces adding texture. The custard base made it feel extra smooth, and the caramelized flavor of the honeycomb took it to another level.
Sometimes, simple flavors reveal the quality of a product best. The vanilla bean custard was incredibly smooth and packed with real vanilla flavor. It was richer than a standard vanilla ice cream, making it a perfect option for those who love classic flavors with a premium twist.
Compared to Tillamook’s ice cream, the frozen custard was noticeably thicker and creamier. The added egg yolks gave it a richer mouthfeel, and each bite had a dense, velvety texture. If you prefer ultra-creamy ice cream with a more indulgent consistency, the custard version is a great option.
Absolutely. If you already love Tillamook’s ice cream, their frozen custard takes it a step further in terms of richness and creaminess. The flavors are well-developed, and the texture is smooth and indulgent. While it is slightly heavier than ice cream, it’s a great treat for those who enjoy a richer, more luxurious frozen dessert.
Would I buy it again? Yes, especially the Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt & Honeycomb Toffee flavors. If you’re curious about frozen custard, Tillamook’s version is a great place to start.
hey there today we are reviewing Tillamook Frozen Custard chocolate fudgy brownie. I've not done a custard yet, so we're gonna see how this tastes I usually like custard squeezing the container. It feels pretty good custard is usually looks pretty good. It smells very chocolatey you can definitely smell smell the fragrance there. custard is usually a thicker, more dense, frozen dessert. This actually doesn't taste any different than ice cream to me. And there should be a slight difference between ice cream and custard. The flavor is very chocolatey. And if I'm being honest, for my palate is a little to chocolaty. I would like to get down to a brownie, which is right there. It's just a matter of scooping it out. And actually this ice cream that texture instead of being creamy it's it's kind of grainy actually the brownie doesn't taste too different than the actual custard but it's it has a nice to to it. The great thing about this versus other ice creams that are I've gotten at the store is it's not melting as quickly. And I appreciate that. I can scoop it and it's not melting yet, but I realized why it is kind of dry and grainy. It would because chocolate can actually dry out your cream. So you have to get your proportions right if you don't want that to happen. Babies always get ice cream, aren't they lucky? So this is fine. I prefer other ice creams and other custard over this one. And I think why that is is because this does seem dry. And just a little too chocolatey for me. But Tomek is usually has really great flavors and ice cream. Although they do melt quickly. I'm not super impressed by their custard. Maybe there are other custard flavors are different and more yummy. If I were to score this custard on a scale from one to 1010 being super excellent creamy flavors on point and one being you know, not those things. I think I would score this right in the middle at a five because it's got great density, which you usually get with a custard. Oh my goodness. It even got in his hair. The flavor for me personally is just to chocolaty. I prefer more of a milk chocolate. When it comes to my ice cream. The texture on my tongue is just dry and I would prefer a creamy ice cream creamy custard So, right there in the middle for you. Number five. What do you guys think about Tillamook ice cream?
